It looks like a lot of those covers were done by Cliff Spohn. And I just found out he illustrated the cover for the recent satire documentary Computer Chess!

ReplyDeleteHis style is amazing. It would be excellent if a Kickstarter for an indie game to have "Commision poster/box art by Cliff Spohn" for a stretch goal. I typo'd my original comment -- sorry for the deletion!
